TALKS #14 – Site Practice (NL, IN)
Site Practice, founded by Dutch architect Anne Geenen, is the second guest of this years’ TALKS about architecture series. Site Practice is an architecture and design studio, based in Mumbai and Amsterdam.
With projects in India, South-East Asia and Europe, the portfolio of the firm can rightfully be called international. By working in close collaboration with future users and by testing situations 1:1 with self-made mock-ups, Site Practice finds its way into making architecture. By taking heritage and the cultural background of future users into account, and by focussing on the specificity of the building site and available materials, Site Practice aspires to create ‘buildings, spaces and objects that become moments of quality in our daily lives.’
TALKS about architecture invites a new generation of architects to discuss their work. What they have in common is that they view architecture as an artistic discipline. The social relevance of the work stems from the poetic and spatial qualities of the work itself.
TALKS is an initiative of Rotterdam-based architecture office De Kort Van Schaik and is organized in partnership with AIR.
